Abstract: The scale divides human states of mind into positive and negative affectivity. Negative affectivity comprises the experience of dissatisfaction and aversive feelings, positive affectivity the experience of joy and positive activity. This scale of 20 items was developed by Watson, Clark and Tellegen (1988) and translated into German by Krohne, Egloff, Kohlmann and Tausch (1996). The scale measures both positive and negative affectivity by asking for an assessment of positive and negative states of mind with reference to different periods of time.
