Job Exposure Matrices (JEM) for ISCO and KldB (Version 2.0)

GESIS, Cologne. Data File Version 1.0.0, https://doi.org/10.7802/1102
Abstract: JEM that were constructed in the same way as the original JEM (http://dx.doi.org/10.7802/1097) but updated for the classification ISCO-08 and KldB-2010. It is also possible to match via the older classifications ISCO-88 or KldB-92. In addition to the original JEM an Index for heavy work was added (HWI). 95.4 % of all ISCO-08 2-digit codes (the codes 63 “subsistence farmers” and 95 “street sales workers” are not covered), 90.8% of the 3-digit codes and 85.5% of the 4-digit codes are represented. The JEM were constructed based on data from the BIBB/BAuA employee survey 2011.

Methodology

Date(s) of Data Collection: 2011-10-17;2012-04-01
Geographic coverage: Germany / DE
Universe: Working age population currently working
Sampling Procedure: JEM constructed using multi-level regression model using data of the BiBB/BAuA employee survey 2011
Mode of Data Collection: Aggregation
Notes: To match the JEM to your dataset the following steps are suggested: 1. Check which is your occupational coding. ISCO-88 and ISCO-08 as well as the German KldB-92 and KldB-2010 are supported out of the box. For other classifications conversion schemes not to be applied. 2. The next step is to generate a variable with an identification string for you ... more
