Scientific Use File Adult Education Statistics

Abstract: The statistics of the German Volkshochschulen have been compiled annually by the German Institute for Adult Education (DIE), Leibniz Centre for Lifelong Learning e.V. since 1962. All adult education centres that are members of a state association of the German Volkshochschul-Verbandes are required to report data. The Adult Education Statistics (VHS-Statistics) are thus designed as a complete enumeration.
Primary data from the surveys are available as scientific-use files for research purposes from the 1987 reporting year onwards.
