Abstract: The study emerged in the context of the research project ‘Changes in the Occupation Structure in Western Europe, 1882-1970’, FU Berlin), which was financed by the Volkswagenwerk foundation in behalf of Henk van Dijk and Hartmut Kealble. The study deals with an aspect of the history of the structure of labor force: long term changes of differences between regions in the 20th century, long term increase or attenuation of regional disparities in the structure of labor force in Germany between 1895 and 1970.
