This restriction was based on considerations concerning surveying only information about candidates of parties which were relevant in the political process.

Universe: The population comprises all candidates of political parties which were represented in the German Bundestag before and after Federal Election in 2009: SPD, CDU, CSU, Buendnis90/Die Gruenen, FDP and Die Linke. Therefore population comprises 2077 candidates.
