Abstract: Primary motives of persons moving within the Federal Republic.
Topics: Previous and future place of residence; place of work;
distance between new and last place of residence; retention of the old
residence; frequency of earlier change of place of residence; move of
other family members; family size; reasons for change of place of
residence; commuter conduct.
Demography: age (classified); sex; marital status; school education;
vocational training; occupation; employment; size of household; state.
Also encoded was: degree of centrality of municipality.

Geographic coverage: Germany (DE), FRG incl. West Berlin
Universe: Individual persons and heads of household 15 years old and older
who registered departure or arrival at randomly selected
resident registry offices in the time from 8 to 26 January 1968.
