Abstract: Position of European political parties on political issues
The political positions were collected from the parties themselves. In parallel, the same positions were assessed by experts on the basis of party programmes, party websites, publications and other sources. These expert interviews (archived under ZA Study No. 5917) are a coded record of the political position of parties. Universe: Political parties for the 2014 European Parliament elections, which should cover all relevant parties in the European elections. Therefore, the total number of candidates was limited to those parties which, according to opinion polls, had the prospect of at least one seat in the European Parliament.
