Abstract: The study of Herzig et al. presents regional structured long time series on Germany’s electricity supply, added with critical annotations about sources, methods and with detailed bibliographical documentation.
The preeminent importance of electricity on economy in general as well as on single economic subareas as for example handicraft, has often been highlighted. Due to a lack of a suitable basis of sources this assumption has not been documented empirically in the past.
