Abstract: After the reunification of Germany the Federal Statistical Office´s aim was to provide statistical base material with information about the economic, social and community development in the former GDR.
For this reason the Federal Statistical Office first collected the inventory of the former GDR’s statistics, and then archived, processed and documented them.
In addition, selected statistical material and variables has been processed – if possible – in a way, that they are comparable to the federal statistics of the old Federal Republic of Germany. The results of this work are published in the ... more Methodology
