Abstract: The religious denomination in the area of the old Federal Republic of Germany remained 1871-1970 largely constant. Since the 1970s, however, a growing secularization of society can be observed (Wolf, C., 2003: Religion and family in Germany, in:. Journal of Protestant ethics, 47. Jg, pp 53-71; see also the study: Wolf, C., 2000: religion in West Germany from 1939 to 1987; Archive no. ZA8146; in HISTAT).
