Universe: Grundgesamtheit der Studie bildet die in Privathaushalten lebende Bevölkerung ab 18 Jahren in 20 ausgewählten Städten. Die Umfrage ist bevölkerungsdisproportional angelegt, die Verteilung der Interviews auf die einzelnen Städte entspricht also nicht deren Bevölkerungsanteil. Es wurden jedoch drei Städtegruppen in Abhängigkeit von ihrer Größenklasse gebildet, die mit je 50, 140 bzw. 500 Interviews in der Stichprobe vertreten sein sollten. Darüber hinaus wurden die Städte entsprechend ihres Migrationsanteils ebenfalls in drei Gruppen unterteilt. Hier war es das Ziel, in der jeweiligen Gruppe insgesamt 30 bzw. 100 bzw. 500 Interviews mit Personen mit Migrationshintergrund durchzuführen.
