Notes: The euandi project is an online tool that shows users which party running for the European elections comes closest to the user´s political position (Voting Advice Application). Available in 24 languages, it invited users to react to 28 policy statements covering a wide range of contemporary policy issues and political values in European politics, as well as to two policy statements specific to the user’s national political context.
During the six weeks before the election – that is, between April 16, when the website was launched, and May 25, when polling stations in all EU countries closed down – the euandi website, according to its own reports, attracted 1.186.744 users.
The user dataset only includes those users who completed the entire questionnaire. In order to avoid duplicates (i.e., same users filling the questionnaire several times), the dataset only includes the answers provided to the first questionnaire by each user. The total amount of entries in the euandi user dataset corresponds to 399.882 unique user sessions.
The political positions of the parties were collected in a separate survey of experts, and are available under the study-number ZA5917.
Codebook is attached as a separate file.
